Imagine a radio station that played great dance music all day long. Cutting edge euro pop, dance tracks, and club hits, all mixed in one big gay blender and spit out over the internet. This is Gaydar Radio.
I first discovered Gaydar Radio surfing through the iTunes “Radio” feature. It seemed appropriate, so I clicked, and instantly fell in love. Part of the UK’s Gaydar website (think gay.com with a foreign slant), Gaydar Radio is full of dry British wit and even better music. Plus they take requests from around the world, and unlike pre-programmed stations locally, they’ll actually play the requests!
The best part of Gaydar Radio is that you get to hear songs that never get play in the States. Major British acts like Girls Aloud and the Sugarbabes get regular airtime, along with the usual Kylies, Beyonces and Gagas. Imagine a 24/7 party station. Sure, you’ll hear ads for random bars in London, but it could be worse. If anything, it makes one feel a bit more worldly, in a weirdly gay way.
